Kittens Need A Home
Spring brings with it new life and the animal kingdom is no different. Kittens are born daily and there are just not enough homes for all of them. One of A Kind Pets Rescue receives dozens of phone calls daily from people in the community requesting help with their cat’s newly born offspring or kittens they have found in their neighborhood. Large numbers of neglected and abandoned adult cats are always a concern too. We help when we can but wish we could do more.

Through rescue and adoption, we continue to offer safe haven to large numbers of homeless kittens and cats. Every rescued kitten or cat receives age-appropriate vaccines and any medical treatment they require. But that is not enough. All rescued animals are spayed or neutered and the community is encouraged to do the same.

Rescuing animals is a very, very expensive mission. Donations are continually requested and always appreciated. Monetary contributions help to pay for tests, vaccinations, medical treatment, spay/neuter and nutrition. Stop in today and meet our feline friends awaiting homes as the roam freely at the adoption center.

Spay and Neuter Clinic Now Open!
Donations needed to help fund the region’s first low-cost / no-cost spay and neuter clinic

One of A Kind Pets Rescue is working hard to make our new low-cost / no-cost spay and neuter clinic available to all pet owners.

Pet overpopulation is a national epidemic.  Each year, six to eight million homeless animals enter shelters in the United States.  Three to four million of them are euthanized due to space limitations.  We recognize the only humane solution to this problem is through an aggressive spay and neuter program.

One of A Kind Pets Rescue is the first to build a Humane Alliance Clinic in this region.  Humane Alliance, a nationally recognized organization, offers a professional model for building and operating spay and neuter clinics throughout the country.  Euthanasia rates at local shelters are reported to decrease by 70% in communities following the Humane Alliance model.  This significant reduction can be accomplished in just a few years.

In an effort to expand our services, One of A Kind Pets Rescue is in development of a program to provide free transportation for clients unable to transport their own pets to the clinic.

Donations are needed to help fund the spay and neuter mission.  Surgical equipment, surgical supplies, and pharmaceuticals are a constant burden for the clinic.  A fund to help subsidize the costs of surgeries performed at no-cost has been established.  If you are interested in supporting this program, please contact Georjette Thomas, Public Relations, at 330.760.0763.
