One of A Kind Pets Spay and Neuter Clinic is leading the fight against pet overpopulation and the unnecessary euthanasia of homeless animals in the region
Construction has been completed on our new low-cost / no-cost spay and neuter clinic. We have been invited to join the National Spay and Neuter Response Team which operates Humane Alliance spay and neuter clinics nationally. Humane Alliance has been working with communities all over the nation to establish successful, aggressive spay and neuter programs. In communities following the Humane Alliance model, the euthanasia rate at local shelters is reported to decrease by 70% in a just a few years. One of A Kind Pets Spay and Neuter Clinic, operating under the Humane Alliance model, will eventually provide free transportation for clients unable to transport their own pets to the clinic. Humane Alliance reports that 86% of clients using spay and neuter clinics have never utilized the services of a local veterinarian. One of A Kind Pets Spay and Neuter Clinic recommends all clients begin and / or maintain routine veterinarian visits with their pets.
Spay and neuter services will be offered to puppies and dogs, kittens and cats, and rabbits. The service will be offered to the community on a sliding fee scale based on the pet owner’s annual income. As part of the surgery process, each animal will receive a full medical exam and Rabies vaccine if necessary. One of A Kind Pets Spay & Neuter Clinic is committed to improving Public Health by promoting animal vaccinations. Humane Alliance reports that only 10% of clients utilizing spay and neuter services in established clinics have had their pet(s) vaccinated for Rabies prior to sterilization.
One of A Kind Pets Spay and Neuter Clinic veterinarians will perform as many as thirty-five (35) spay and neuter surgeries daily.
The clinic is located at 1700 West Exchange Street and occupies 4,500 square feet. Short term kenneling will be added to the rear of the clinic to quarantine rescued animals prior to being eligible for adoption. The total cost to renovate and equip the clinic is approximately $450,000.
Clinic naming rights are available for surgical and ancillary suites.
